We are thrilled to honor Mr. & Mrs. Steven & Lynnda Davis as JDRF Central Ohio's 2017 Buckeye Promise Award recipients.
The Davis' are an integral part of JDRF Central Ohio's success under its mission to treat, prevent and ultimately cure type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Since their daughter's diagnosis with type 1 in 2009, the Davis' have given their time, talents, wisdom and financial support to our Central Ohio chapter to help find a cure for their daughter and so many others like her.
In addition, they have kept their "Buckeye Promise" by supporting the Columbus community in many ways. Steve and Lynnda have demonstrated what it means to be steadfast supporters of both JDRF and the community. Their accomplishments are tremendous
- Lynnda began serving on the Board in 2012 and was the first Leadership Giving chair for the Central Ohio chapter.
- Lynnda co-chaired the 2013 Promise Ball, which is the highest grossing Promise Ball in the Central Ohio chapter’s history.
- Steve served as Corporate Recruitment Chair for the 2013 and 2014 Walk to Cure Diabetes (OneWalk)
- In support of the 2014 Walk to Cure Diabetes, Steve championed holding a National Sneaker Sale through Bob Evans that raised over $103,000 for JDRF across the country.
- Steve joined the Board in 2015 and will serve as the Nominating chair for JDRF Fiscal Year 2017.
- Steve and Lynnda’s community wide support extends to The James Cancer Hospital at OSU, The STAR program at OSU, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, The Women’s Fund, the Center for Healthy Families, The McCoy Center for the Arts and the Links Incorporated among others.
